Large butt is the order of today’s women, however there are different types of large butt. There is the healthy large butt which is usually curvy, shapely and lack dimples and then there's the unhealthy large butt that is unshapely, has dimples and appears rotund. These butts types can be appreciated when view in the Nude.

Large butts generally falls into 3 categories: Callipygian, Steatopygian and Adiposis Dolorosa.

Callipygian

Having beautifully proportioned buttocks. Or having well-shaped or finely developed buttocks. 

Recognition and appreciation of this buttocks type dates back to the first century. This assertion can be proven by the famous Venus Callipyge also known as the Callipygian Venus or Aphrodite Kallipygos; an Ancient roman Marble depicted by a young partially draped woman, raising her light garment to uncover her perfect well shaped hips and buttocks.

When the callipygian butt is viewed in the nude, it appears shapely with clear-cut contour definition, good tone and the skin is very smooth. There are no fluid pockets or stretch marks on this type of butt.

It’s important to state that this type of butt shape is the template for almost all Brazilian Butt Surgery.

Steatopygian

Here there is an excessive accumulation of fats in the buttocks. This is predominantly seen in women of Negro origin especially the Khoisan women in South Africa.

A well-known documented case is that of Sarah Baartmann the ‘Hottentot  Venus’, a South African Khoikhoi woman who due to her large buttocks was deceived with promise of a better life and was taken to Europe only to be exhibited as a freak show attractions and a sample for scientific analysis in the 19th-century . It was assumed that her ordeal in the hands of her masters led to her untimely demise at the age of 25 years.

When you take the Steatopygian butt in the nude, it is unshapely and lacks definition and tone and the skin is very bumpy due to excess fluid build-up and retention and it is also saturated with stretch marks. This stretch are considered unsightly to most self-conscious women.

This is seen in most Nigerian Women with big Butt.

Adiposis Dolorosa or Dercum's disease, is a rare condition characterized by multiple, painful fat deposit otherwise called Lipomas. These lipomas mainly occur on the trunk, buttocks, the upper arms and thigh.
