SOUTH AFRICAN PRESIDENT IN ANOTHER CARTOON CONTROVERSY: THE PORNOGARPHY OF POWER

In this straight-up pornographic, controversial  and yet mystifying art work, Jacob Zuma is depicted standing and laughing, holding a teddy bear behind his back, while a young woman, tied with a rope, gives him oral sex. At the same time, the woman is being violated from behind by a hyena dressed like a human and being milked, with the milk running into a can marked with the ANC’s logo.

The artist, Ayanda Mabulu  said "I have been searching and trying to find ways to define and express how I feel about the political situation in the country. I feel like the country is being turned into a slut, and this young democracy of ours is being molested in many ways and raped continuously. I feel like our leaders have been turned into a lynch clan. We have been robbed out of what’s rightfully ours.

Things are happening in clear color outside, so it is important for me to be direct and abandon any metaphorical Shakespearean mode of expression.

" The woman represents our country and all that she has to endure under this leadership. We are being milked dry, and you can imagine the torment involved when a dick is forcefully plunged into your throat, and at the same time you are being lynched. Then behind you is the hyena/colonial master, who is fucking you from behind while your breasts are being milked. How can you reconcile this type of existence with this so called democracy? The life of a black man is sad, it is hell. And even worse is that the architects of this hell are our leaders.

Several Female supporters of the 73 years old South African President today condemn this Artwork. Hundred of members of African National Congress Women's Leagues (ANCWL) took to the street to demostrate their loyalty to Jacob Zuma.
Toko Xasa, ANCWL spokeswoman said "The painting denigrates the President, not just him, but women as well, given how woman is portrayed.
"We condemn the denigration of the image of President Zuma by so-called artist. For example, recently the portrayal of the president's genitals in the mouth of a woman. The country was silent and even failed to condemn the imagery of violence against women.
